Bloomingdale, Ind -- Basil Otis Crowder, Sr. 69, of Bloomingdale Rt 1, died Sunday July 11, 1976 at his home. He had been ill for some time. Born April 11, 1909 in Fountain County, he was the son of Elmer and Artie Wallace Crowder. on November 9, 1934, in Parke COunty, he married Helene Clark, who survives. He was employed by the Morgan Coal Co. for 15 years and for the Indana AState Highway Department in Parke Co. for 8 years. other survivors include 3 sons, Charles of Hillsboro, Basil Otis, Jr. of Cayuga and Sgt. Bradley Crowder of Camp LeJuene, NC; a daughter, Mrs. Claude 9Jean) Martin of Greenfield; 4 brothers, Wallace of Veedersburg; Eston of Kingman; Freeman of Terre Haute and Harold of Kokomo; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Massey of Kingman and Mrs. Clifton Lyons of lafayette; and 14 grandch. He was preceded ind eath by a son, Carl; two brothers, Ernest and Ivan and a grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tudor-Herrick Memorial Chapel in Rockville with the Rev. John Niederhaus officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery at Yeddo. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
